First of all, I recently upgraded my camera and have been taking quite a few pictures recently. I would describe myself as a keen beginner with a good camera but a wooden eye so to speak, so pardon me for some of the slightly pompous pictures. Anyway, I've always greatly enjoyed the pictorial threads of this forum, so I again thought that I'd share some pics from our weekend on the water.

The weather was simply fabulous with temperatures around 25 - 28 C, which was a marked improvement over the very cold and grey weather we had the week before.

Fueled up and ready to go

Most boats were launched but the owners missed a great weekend

Despite the cold water (around 7C) the evenings were balmy. A very nice SS portofino was waiting to be collected btw, on the left =).

Olavinlinna still in a state of hibernation

On sunday I drove the boat back to our home base at Anttola. I was expecting it to be chilly in the open waters due to the cold water, but it was shirt off and suntan on.

Making good progress. For some reason the log shows three knots less than the gps.

The new injectors on the port engine seemed to improve things. After a 3 1/2 hour ride there was modest soot on the corner of the bathing platform but considerably less than before.

Overall a great weekend, but sadly weather like this doesn't come our way too often. Not even every summer...

I think these pictures are cracking - what camera have you got? Thanks for posting - looks great.

Cheers

Reading posts of other users with photos of the boats and trips made is one of the things I love about the forum.

Lovely photos (like the previous ones) Thanks for taking the time and effort to post them.

Posts like this get the big thumbs up from me!!

Hear hear, those are great photos scubaman

Re your log, the impeller wheel must be running a bit rough or have some dirt in it?

It may also be due to careless application of antifoul but I haven't worried too much about it since I've always relied on the gps anyway.

I must say Scubaman that boat of yours is very tidy indeed, a real credit to you.

Also noticed from your previous, initial thread, a distinct artistic flair with the photography, very nice...it hasn't gone unnoticed :)

All the best for the upcoming season, and keep the pics coming.

Thank you all again for you kind feedback. I'll be snapping and posting more pics along the summer so bear with me.

AndieMac, as mentioned in my previous post, the products we used made polishing bearable and gave good results.

You noticed :). Experimenting with artistic flair is where shooting becomes complicated and interesting as that is where the difference between a great shot and a sorry attempt taken by a 'keen beginner' becomes obvious. It's one thing to take a reasonable 'postcard photo' and quite another to take one that conveys a story. I'm still working my way around the various buttons scattered around the camera...

Hi Scubaman

Fantastic pics and the boat looks good

Just out of interest what was the outcome of the injector problem you had recently, did you buy new or could the old injectors be reconditioned

They are now all new volvo replacement injectors. Replacement meaning that Volvo quote a cheaper price when sending the old ones back in. Workshop manual says that the injectors must not be reconditioned although something probably could have been done. But all new now with a warranty.

What do you imagine Volvo do with old knackered injectors? My guess is recondition them and send them back to the next bloke who needs six and so-on.

Cheeky beggers

I must say it made me a little suspicious as well, hence my earlier post about the subject.

It might also be that there is something wrong with the design/material and they don't want to have these circling around? I've heard of stories of failing injectors on these engines.
