The festival is held rain or shine or wind(all three this year) in Maidstone Town centre during the last week of the unfailingly blisteringly hot week of July.
Pix are of some of the competitors in the raft race raising funds for for a local hospice.
It is obligitory to soak the participents as they pass by your boat using anything that will hold water

Excellent fun,They used to do one down the channel in Barrow,finishing up with a p*ss up on peel island,did it once and will never forget the headache the next day--bloody good fun !!
