After listening to Fred waffling on for years about how lovely the non tidal Medway is I borrowed a boat and went.....for once in his life he was right, thanks Fred!
First few are moored at Yalding and then a trip up to "The Meadows".
Highlight for me was sitting watching a Kingfisher.

Me getting dizzy as it's a twisty turny bit of the river

Cheryl, me and Alby, I was taking her to see a bramble bush that was teeming with butterflies, dragonflies etc....she was very impressed and asked where the shops were.

I recognise that expression!!
Are you taking your morning ablutions? I would have thought you'd have found a nearby hedge!

Looks a great trip, very peaceful!

Beautiful pictures - reminds me of holidays I've taken in the past on the Upper Thames and the Norfolk Broads. There's nothing quite so relaxing as a quite river IMO.

Cheers,
Paul

Set off from Cuxton and went for five days, in that time (apart from Fred) we saw a total of three boats on the move....very quite.

Didn't deter Albert, we were moored just below East Farleigh Lock and after taking him for a walk we had to go down a grassy slope and on to the gang (scaffold) plank, Albert just kept going and went head first into the river, not for the first time and I'm sure it won't be his last! :)

A "Profile 33", lovely boat. A pal of mine has one and he has crossed rivers, offshore seas and canals on board her. Assume she is a bilge keel and can take the ground. I love the way the hull curves in towards the gunnel aft.

Yep, it is a lovely economical go anywhere kind of boat and as you say has a bilge keel.....and is up for sale if anyone's interested. :)
