Holland is very obvious choice but, here, you too need to go with appropriate dos and don'ts for reasonable deals on your way

As I write this there has been 1151 people look at this posting, and I am amazed at that number, I expected 40 or 50. I only asked where the best place to sell a Dutch Barge. I know there are little communities of like minded people, and I was only looking for one of those communities

Following my posting, my friend has been inundated with interest, in fact the barge should be at Eel Pie Island for a survey at the moment.

I once expressed similar amazement over one of my posts in 'For Sale'. Hundreds looking but nobody buying.

I was told that these are not actually human beings. They are internet 'bots' scanning everything looking for e-mail addresses and suchlike.

The page consistently gets high viewing figures (real, not bots) (932 in the last month) and has generated quite a few enquiries (from all over the world).
There's a lot of interest in these kind of boats.

Not sure I'd be keen on living in a steel hull wrapped in hidden polystyrene, unless its some special fire retardent type stuff.

I haven't heard much from the vendor lately. The last I heard the barge was going to Eel Pie island last Friday, I don't know if she actually went as planned

Maybe, but last Friday there was supposed to be a fairly high tide - The end of a spring tide - perhaps it was not as high as predicted

I have just heard from the vendor. You hit the nail on the head - there was not enough water. However she says they are hoping to move her this week end, but the water is lower than last week end !!!!! although early next week there will be spring tides

Plenty room on the Caledonian canal . Several vessels of same size there already . Could take on lodgers
