SWMBO is addicted to the stuff, she can't get up in the morning without a swig of this life-giving elixir, let alone take a night watch without several mugfulls. The problem is that our supplies of Yorkshire Tea are running low.

Suggestions of a suitable substitute available in Nova Scotia are requested. Anything de-caffinated, green, herbal, weak and wishy-washy are NOT what is required.

I wondered why you hadnt moved on in the past week
we can send you supplies if you are desperate

Whenever someone from the Foreign Office goes abroard and visits the british embassy in that country, the convention is that he/she asks in advance if any of the embassy staff need anything brought out to them - common requests are proper tea and Marmite!

Try mail-order groceries - Fortnum and Masons would supply posh, but real tea, and Twinings, too. Or ask a UK friend to pack up a hefty supply and mail it out to you.

Tea

Well I can't agree with your taste in tea but I may well be going to Halifax NS in about 2 weeks for 3 or 4 days so could deliver some of your chosen poison if you are nearby. On the condition you don't offer me a cup of the stuff when we meet! PM me if you're interested

Pity you didn't mention this sooner. I know of a nice young couple who have just flown out there, and I'm sure they would have brought you some.

Surely there must be someone ont' tinternet that can send emergency supplies?

Yep, teabags and Marmite, you could trade your way round the world with a boat full of these essentials:D

And what's wrong with Yorkshire Tea may I ask? It is a fine brew.

And Branston Pickle is another very much sought after commodity because it is virtually unavailable abroad. Worth having several jars tucked away...:D
