Kim, with your permission please, an advert!

Every year a group of boat owners, both power and sail, based in Chichester Harbour give a day of joy and happiness to children of mixed physical and mental ability from Special Needs schools from the surrounding area.

This year KIDS OUT will take place on Friday 20th of May. Pick up points will be Chichester and Northney Marina and Itchenor Reach. Two or three children together with a helper will be alocated to each boat, the system runs like clockwork. You take your new 'crew' down to East Head, anchor for lunch and enjoy a low level flypast by a CG SAR Sea King. Children are returned to their pick up points by early afternoon.

We are, this year very short of boats. SB's iangrant , who normaly takes part will be on his way south to prepare for the ARC, but I know he will endorse what I say when I tell you this is a very rewarding low stress day! It will cost you little, its an excuss to start your sailing weekend a day early, the children are wonderfull, it will make you feel humble!

Please PM me and I will give give you registration details. Please we need your help.

Steve - I'm hanging on and will be there. I've confirmed with John Blake too that I'll be there.

Fantastic day out for the kids -

Not sure if we're free on that day yet, but if we are, we'd love to offer our boat (Legend 326, moored at Dell Quay).

If you have any Deaf kids, I'm a sign language interpreter.

We have step through transom which might make access easier?

Please PM me if you think we can help.

Thank you to all of you who have contacted me with offers of help, the kids will be most greatful.

As tome says, "about time we gave something back".

I look forward to hearing from more of you during the next couple of days.

We cannot contact the schools with promises to take the kids sailing until we have the boats. We need to contact the schools soon as they need to tell parents, have staff scheduled etc.

Can't offer a boat- but if someone is hesitating to offer theirs through lack of crew on the day I would be pleased to offer my services. Can also bring along spare life jackets.
