It looked like Armageddon on Canvey but it was only a sunset. (sorry my cheap camera has a rubbish zoom)

The Brent geese are tucking in to the eel grass that grows on the mud here. The RSPB have a geese watch down on the wharf - apparently there are only 4000 of them here at the moment - all non-breeding adults which is a bit of a mistery. Still make a nice racket at night.

You have my sympathy on the noise. Where I work in the Spring has an army of Canada's which seem to spend their time noisily moving between the upper and lower lakes. And when they have their young they get desperately bad tempered with humans

Ah, but Brent's make a lovely conversational, murmuring noise, while Canadas are just raucous. The Brent geese are the sound of autumn, and I love it.

I probably wouldn't if 4000 were outside my bedroom window though!

Well as it happens, I am looking at a blue office wall right now, far far too picturesque to post on here /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
