WOT and fuel burn

For those that asked the question about speed and fuel burn at WOT. I have an answer. Speed maxed out at 37.8 knots with a fuel burn of 70 gallons and hour. That not US gallons - it's good old UK gallons. So around 310 litres an hour.

IMHO the third engine is a p****e extension! I think that two engines would be fine - OK make em 300's or even 350's but I think the drag and all the extra weight does nothing for the boat really. The 300 hp version of the Verado is 20kgs lighter than the 250 version. So 3 x 250 weigh in at 900kgs and a pair of 300s would be 560kgs.
