Yeah they are just the thing... They say made to order and supplied as a pair £61 each...! Think I'll keep looking for a while...

You want a non-standard part; it'll cost more. And it would probably cost you as much to get one made by a S/S fabricator.

Yes, would have been custom made originally. Ask them nicely if they will make just one for you. Price is reasonable for a custom fitting.

If you can use the off the shelf Proboat one you may well find your local chandler will be willing to order it for you and delivery is usually pretty fast.

If you need a custom one they you will only get it by paying the going rate. On the positive side most fabricators charge lower hourly rates than garages or marine engineers. Look in yellow pages there are plenty of them around. There are two within a couple of miles of our UK home

Hi All

I've been looking for an A-bolt like the ones on this broboat site...

http://www.proboat.co.uk/item.asp?cat_id=33&prod_id=289&dep=1

BW-410618

...ButI need one that is for 65mm hole centers, 10mm dia and angled at 8 degrees.

It's for the baby stay attachment on a GK 29.

Does anybody know where I can get one? Googled around, but can't find one.

Cheers

David

Try Trafalgar yacht services...I seem to recall having seen something similar there.

Thanks Guys

I was hoping to find an easy "plug & play" replacement off the shelf. I might just get the one from Proboat, fill and move the holes (it's only 5mm each side) and fit a new backing pad.

Now I've looked at the drawing again of the Proboat "A-bolt" dimension "B" is 55mm but it shows it as inside size and not centre to centre, so with 10mm bolts it could be 65mm? I'll give them a ring in the morning...

Thanks

David

Hello David,

IIWM, I'd factor in my time, the running and faffing around and get them from Trafalgar..

How much is your time worth??

Beforer you ring them, take another careful look at their drawing. Dimension "B" on the BW-410618 you said you were interested in isn't 55mm, it's only 40mm.

I was going to suggest these, but they don't do one with 65mm hole centres either.
I certainly wouldn't pay £60 for them, much rather go down the route of filling and re-drilling the holes to suit (I don't get paid on Saturdays).
