Well she said yes! Anyone got any recomendations as to where we I can take about 20 p1ssed up 40-50 year olds?
An idea is to ask a few boaty friends along, sail somewhere, find a pub or two, sleep on boat then sail back.

But most of all I just wanted to let you all know how happy I am :) . She's a cracker!!

If it was 12 there's the Barge Alice from Gunwharf. I'm sure you could sort something out for the other 8.

My random suggestion for get sailing hire your self 2 or 3 canal boats...
Boats are big and steel choose the right place lots of pubs and drink on passage...

Allot more fun than you would think and the weather really does not matter...

Sorry to any private canal boat owners on here, but you know its true!

I think the Vic 32 puffer can be hired for such things. Obviously some thought has to be given to safety if people are pissed so a hire with some crew would be handy. Great place for a stag is Skye. It has great pubs, scenery and there are lots of fun sports like archery etc that can be done at the clan Donald hotel. You can do boat trips there or you could arrive by boat if you have friends. There are moorings at Armadale which are walking distance from the hotel (in case some friends aren't so boaty).
Congratulations and hope you have fun whatever the plans.

Don't want to be a pooper, but I've heard what you guys get up to on stag doos as my son is just back from yet another this weekend.
Strongly recommend you leave boats and the water out of it.
If you want to play boats invite a few at a time to something that can be kept under control.
I'm sure you will find an exciting adventure activity that is new to most, or just go to Rose street in Edinburgh or Temple bar in Dublin for a prolonged sesh. That'll sort the men from the boys.

Congratulations, by the way. Hope it's long and happy.

We hired a yacht for my stag do back in 2000 - Oceanis 400 or thereabouts and it slept 10. Warsash to Cowes and back was enough over two days & nights with some sailors and none sailors aboard - was in early April so not so busy and got into Cowes in time for the Rugby internationals. 2 x charters that and you're away!

Thanks for all the hints here and by PM :)
I take the point about mixing boats, water and alchohol but at the moment it's just thoughts. It would need to be local to here, ie Poole or Solent.
I used to spend a lot of time on the canals as youngster and loved it, My Grandparents had a hire business and then went on to build them too. But for me this is a past life, and I'm looking to the future, so looking at sailing really. I think if it was a goer, Cowes is up there on my preferred list.
