Yep I know it is double posting but I think it should be in here anyway.
Hi folks.
At some time all of you with an old wooden boat will have read at least one of Frances. B. Cooks Famous Books.
I am fortunate to own a 1905 Gaff Cutter "Mercia III" that has featured in edition two and three of his original books "Cruising Hints"
I have just leant.
Yachting Monthly have published a review of it pg 42 Nov 2011 issue,
Well Richard Wynne of www.lodestarbooks.com. and a long standing member of these forums has re-written an up dated edition of all his main features, notes and jottings and compiled them into one volume.
It is a must for any old gaffer to have in his library.
Quote from an email he sent me:-
Hi David,
Book can be seen and a sample downloaded at www.lodestarbooks.com. Classic Boat and Wooden Boat will be reviewing it, and I am probably doing the odd YC visit with it down this way. Tell all your pals about it, as it won't be in the shops - I rely on the web and the grapevine ! If I say so myself, it's a nice job, the printers are brilliant.
All the best
Dick
