Over the weekend of 26th-28th September, the V24 off -shore power boat nationals take place off Portsmouth and Southsea. Boat number V8 crewed by Shelly Jory and Gavin Brown will be trying to win the nationals. V8 was the boat that crashed 200 metres from the finish line while in the lead of the Round the Island Race over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Following some stirling work by Mark Pascoe and his team a new deck has been fitted and all the parts are now being put back together. Following intensive lobbying - we would like to thank Raymarine for suppling their new Raychart 435 together with the VHF equipment and Navionics for the chart for the area . A big thank you to Crewsaver who have supplied essential buoyancy bags and lifejackets. Other sponsors will be named shortly.
Thanks must also go to Jake Kavenagh and Kim Hollomby who provided me with contacts and Geoff Sheddick, Marine Marketing Manager for Jabsco for suppllying essential pump equipment.
It has been a true race against time and without the help of the above and others we could not of got V8 back on the water in time. If any of you are around the Solent that weekend, please come and cheer Shelley and Gavin on - but please, no stray spector boat washes please/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
