There was a rather large Dutch Wharram in Culatra last year They cooked on an open fire on deck. It's a way of doing things that's not for me.

If it has been maintained to a good standard its a good price. We had a Pahi 31 for 7 years, sailed really well including to windward. Yes it will be Spartan inside, but you will never fall out of the reasonable sized bunk. Also it is open bridgedeck so you will be at one with the elements, fine on a good summer's day otherwise good foulies will be a must.

Sailed a 21 years ago - sailed beautifully. That was spartan, but the fun!
Cross an ocean as well, for £8k. Where's the sense of adventure gone ?

It seems to be the nautical equivalent of a recumbant bicycle. Different and generally more uncomfortable and awkward than a conventional boat with a small but devoted following.

I'm probably missing something in both cases, but I don't see the attraction.
