A bad day - tall ship sinking....

That's very sad. She was a beautiful ship.
I'm drinking my afternoon tea from an Astrid mug I bought on a visit to her some years ago.
Our Sailing club presented her with a brass starting gun as we thought a ship like her should have a proper canon.

Yes, it is sad. They are difficult things to replace, especially as she was an original vessel from the days of sail rather than a reproduction.

This is terrible, when is the run of disasters on wooden boats and ships going to end ?

I remember Astrid visiting Weymouth in the 80's, wasn't she the one who when turning in the harbour managed to kebab a 2CV with her bowsprit in one window and out the other, dragging it along the quay ?

She was a pretty ship, a really sad loss.
