Hello all i tried to trim my trim and tilt up after a 4 month lay up and it did not budge.
The motor sounds louder and faster than normal but it only trimmed up with a fair bit of assistance but once it got on to the bigger centre tilt ram it managed its self and was also slower than normal.
When i had it tilted up i noticed the centre ram was leaking slightly from the top seal so i checked the fluid and had to top it up with about 60-70ml.
After topping up i trimed it down and up twice (with assistance on trim up) and checked the fluid level again and it had not dropped so would any of you guys know what i should try next as i have very little knowledge on these things cheers Gordon.

There is a hole on the side of the transom bracket (probably right side when looking to the bow)

You can insert a screwdriver and unscrew a few turns. YOu can then tilt the engine up by hand.

This will establish if the 'hinge' is stuck (corroded/rusted/etc).

This is incase you need to do so at any time.

Sounds like a) a seal in the pump has gone b) air in the system.

Have you tried off the reservoir with hydraulic fluid and cycle the engine up and down a few times - the air will come right out via the air vent on the reservoir. Just make sure the level in the reservoir is close to full when you start as you don't want to be pumping additional air into the hoses and cylinders.

This may help

Thanks for your help Rum Pirate i have used the manual trim screw to lower it a couple of times to see if that would help bleed it but it was the same.I have been having a good read about and have noticed that manual tilt and lower screw should have 3 o rings on it and sometimes these break off also the tip of the screw can break off too. so i will check that today thanks.
