Couple of days ago, I've got a tip off on this side about Maplins selling 600W modified sinewave invertors for £29.99. I have just received it and tested it; it works very well. Plenty more of these at Maplins.

Yes, you are right, I've just checked the Maplins web side and it appears that they have raised the price from £29.99 to £69.99 in the last 24 hours!!!!
I started a thread about the comparison between modified and pure sinewave inverters a little while ago, you might want to read it before you plug in anything expensive to it... quasi v pure sine wave inverters
Hope your DC supply is up to it - 600 wats will draw more than 50 amps at 12v, so your batteries will take a hammering when it is on unless your engine is running.
