I would never enter a post on this site asking for anything for myself. Well I don't think I would anyway. However your help is needed by someone else.
The 5girlsinaboat.org.uk is a charity raising money for cancer charities, run by a very courageous lady by the name of Sue Rutter. Sue a survivor of cancer herself, decided to raise money for the charities associated with the disease. Last year she and her team took on the Magellan Three Peaks Race, they came third overall and the fastest yacht under 35ft, raising £18,000 for St Wilfred’s hospice and Breast Cancer Care.
That was year one of a five year plan. Year two starts in May with the Scottish Islands Peaks Race.
They are a proper well run small charity. A good management team, with Lady Pippa Blake as patron taking an active part, a good competitive team, with a sound plan capable of working, they have all that is needed except……
And this is where you all come in, MONEY!!!
Many people have spent, quite rightly, their charity budget already this year responding to the Tsunami appeal. Small charities are suffering as a result. 5girlsinaboat.org.uk didn’t plan for the need of corporate sponsorship. Many of you will, I hope, be associated with companies who would be able to help, its corporate money that is needed, the girls will not turn any money down, but they MUST have £5,000 before the end of March, to see the project work.
