I have just come across what must be one my all time "love to own" Motor Yachts. The Motor Yacht is a 1964 example of the Silver Ormidale class built by James Silvers of Roseneath called Silver Buccaneer.

She is planked in teak below the waterline with mahogany topside, laid teak decks. Varnished mahogany superstructure with twin Gardner 127 HP engines.

She is under cover at Sandpoint Marina in Dumbarton (used to be Macalester's) and is just a joy to see with her two large props, stabilisers, bow thruster. Just oozes strength and seaworthiness.

They were built not far from where had our mooring at the foot of the Gareloch and in the Spring there usually were a few 58s moored in the bay after being stored ashore in the Yards at Silvers.

I have just found out that the one in the pic is for sale ( no connection just an admirer of Classic Motor Yachts) and hope it goes to a good home
