I am looking at a 50 Superhawk with Tri-max Drives and triple 420 yanmars. It is a crossover for me since I previously had the "go-fast boats" with the large blower motors.

Is there any issues with them or the ZF tranmissions ? What speed can I expect ?

I appreciate you assistance.

Some of the two-speed ZF gearboxes had some reliability issues, but suspect that with tripple's you won't have two-speed boxes fitted... Straight forward gearboxes... Trimax' do not bite well in reverse if it has radical cleaver's on (compared with shafts that is), so expect a lot of foam and limited action when trying to hold her back..

I had a Sunseeker XS with the same Tri-max engines and 2 speed gearbox set up, only two engines in the XS, no probs with them.
Tri-max drives are fab, even in reverse, Yanmar 420 is good, and the two speed ZF gearbox is works well, it is a great 50+knot boat, but you do have 3 engines to look after.

Goinglean on Boatmad.com has one, or is it his?

Putting my 2008 predator 62 up for sale, if she sells im going to be on the lookout for a Superhawk 50 or similar myself. Just great fun boats for a day blast. Anyone wat to px one....
