50% off a subscription to MBY for one day only!

Hi all,

We've got a subscription deal on MBY today that runs out at midnight. If you want a cheap sub just before Christmas then check it out!

Cheers,

Jack

Just how does £18.99 = €82.50  for ROI sub. Wonder how many subscribers in Ireland pay that extraordinary premium.

OR £39.99 = €82.50 ?

I'd like to subscribe but only at GBP/Euro exchange rates as the postage difference is nominal for that weight/size.

£39.99 = €47.23

Not €82 which is FIFTY SEVEN % more!!! The postage does NOT cost the €35 difference

Hi Jack

I'm sure I'm being thick here, but although I can see the big 50% off banner at the top of the page, there's no apparent (to me) way to actually buy this discounted subscription. Where am I going wrong?

Cheers

Hi Jimmy,

Lower down the page on that link Jack posted you should see the 50% deal highlighted and an 'Add to basket' button. We are aware of some technical difficulties where the 50% deal isn't showing up, with a less generous one in its place. Our subscriptions people are looking into it.

Try this link in the meantime – 50% deal.

Oceanfroggie – not a huge amount we can do about that, I'm afraid. Richard might be able to shed a bit more light on why it's so expensive in Ireland. Ever thought about a sub to our interactive iPad version? It's a lot cheaper and a great reason to buy an iPad :D.

Hi Stewart

Nope, still not seeing it. Jack's original link took me to a page with 50% off banner, but no 'add to basket', and then three discount offers at 34%, 31% and 35% off respectively.

Your link takes me to a page which again has the 50% off banner, but no 'add to basket'; and then three discount offers at 38%, 35%, 37% off respectively.

So still no ability to buy the daily deal (and as an observation, it might make sense for the other discounted offers to at least have some sort of description to tell you what they are (6 months/12 months/24 months praps?).

Cheers

What a shocker, I can only apologise. Our subs team are getting furious emails from all of us here. It would appear that there are two versions of the page out there.

They've been sent the the link to this thread, so will see your comments for themselves.

Thanks Stewart. I'd be very interested in an answer to the Ireland problem, looking forward to hearing fom Richard. It's been a topic of discussion in the yacht club for years, hence the lads tend to buy the odd copy off the shelve when passing newsagents, rather than subscribe all year round.

Ps. Is there an iPad sampler or try before you buy option? The software used by some digital publications is excellent, while others are less so, so I'd like to get a feel for the quality first. Thanks

Thanks Stewart!

An update - firstly the link is puzzling those who put it together and they are working on it now.

Secondly the Ireland issue has always been that it is outside Europe and coupled with the Irish postal service, although I am awaiting for an update from our subscription department to see if this is still the case.

And finally the ipad issue....its not possible to try before you buy (hard to believe I know) this is a copy policy (as in our parent one, Time Warner) and is to do with security and copyright issues...BUT at present we use Zinio for our digital magazines and they can be found in the app store where you can try some other publications not published by IPC to give you a look and feel.

Or if you are at the London Boat Show we will have them on display there for you to use.

I will update when I have further answers and agreed its pretty daft having a 24 hour offer when it only seems so to work for some people.

We will however honour this for anyone that has tried and failed to subscribe.

Cheers

Holy ****, i just nearly purchased a subscription to Woman magazine:eek::eek: That is where the first link takes you :confused::D

Preferential?

Is this 50% off a better deal than those of us who have subscribed for years are getting?

This Zingo MBM sampler works on my laptop, not 100% sure about Ipad but I assume its OK.

You can read the whole mag in small print and choose 3 pages to zoom in on.
