Has anyone received a UK Navtex 490 broadcast in the last few days?

Yes. You don't mention 518khz so are you receiving those broadcasts but not 490khz?

Have you got all the stations that you are within range of turned on? My experience of navtex is very limited but I had a load of trouble trying to get it set up to print the messages that I wanted and not a whole load of other stuff.

I think if you are on the move, you might loose stations and not be set to pick up the ones you get within range of?

Er, all this may be a laod of rubbish, can anyone put me right?

Yes!

Get the Niton broadcasts more often than not - miss a few now and then, but OK last few days. Only problem I am having is that I can't seem to turn off Monsanto which has only started popping up in the last few weeks!

I'm in Plymouth and have an ICS Nav6 plus

Cheers,

Jerry

Re: Yes!

Thanks for info one and all.
I am receiving 518 fine, but the only 490 I have received during the last couple of weeks has been some rather garbled French - I check the boat every few days.
I have a newish Nav 6 plus which was working OK, and which still seems to be correctly setup, but I am no longer receiving Portpatrick (I am based in Largs, Scotland).

Aaah! well...none the wiser actually. If you receive 518, you should receive 490 - comes out the same spout. Could look at Frank Singleton's site which helped me (and then send e-mail to bod named Lt Cdr Chris Pink at Hydrographers if everything goes pear shaped)
