Have you got all the stations that you are within range of turned on? My experience of navtex is very limited but I had a load of trouble trying to get it set up to print the messages that I wanted and not a whole load of other stuff.
I think if you are on the move, you might loose stations and not be set to pick up the ones you get within range of?
Er, all this may be a laod of rubbish, can anyone put me right?
burgundyben, coolest of men, by all I'm called, cool burgundyben.
Get the Niton broadcasts more often than not - miss a few now and then, but OK last few days. Only problem I am having is that I can't seem to turn off Monsanto which has only started popping up in the last few weeks!
Thanks for info one and all.
I am receiving 518 fine, but the only 490 I have received during the last couple of weeks has been some rather garbled French - I check the boat every few days.
I have a newish Nav 6 plus which was working OK, and which still seems to be correctly setup, but I am no longer receiving Portpatrick (I am based in Largs, Scotland).
Aaah! well...none the wiser actually. If you receive 518, you should receive 490 - comes out the same spout. Could look at Frank Singleton's site which helped me (and then send e-mail to bod named Lt Cdr Chris Pink at Hydrographers if everything goes pear shaped) http://www.franksingleton.clara.net/navtex.html
