I have a 04 model 40hp Mainer and when i have the motor straight up and down it will run fine, but as soon as i raise it a little it starts to run rough then it starves of fuel and dies. Any ideas

Is the fuel line being trapped by anything when the engine tilts?

I had a good look around the in and outside of the motor, I did how ever find the inline filter after the oil diagram has a black ring around it. After I put a clear line on between the two and pumped the bulb black **** came out after tapping the filter.
