40 hp Yamaha model 676 Spark Plugs

I would like to find out the correct spark plug electrode gap
for a 2stroke twin cylinder 40 hp Yamaha outboard motor model 676.
Would realy appreciate this info.

Don't know what Year a 676 is. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
If you use NGK. B8HS 8- 10 for 2 cyl jobbies 92 onwards. Gap 25 thou.
B7HS-10 ,ok if You pootle along a lot.
B8HS Gap 10 thou.
B7HS again if You ain't "thrashing" it all the time.
B8HS or7 for older engines I reckon.
Same thread type and reach and electrode type.
The "10" ones run with a bigger "gap"
Most Japanese engines will "spec" NGK's as standard fit.
To use Champion or Bosch or whatever just use a cross reference chart to match.
Personally use NGK anyway.
What plugs are in it now?

well, the hs-10's should be gapped at 1mm, that's what the 10 is for ... 1.0 mm

normal HS plugs are gapped at 0.7 as a rule.

lord knows what that is in thou, but 10 thou sounds tiny . /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
