I'm afraid that the wash from passing cars is undermining the effectiveness of our sandbagging. So am seeking support to impose a 4 knot limit.

Is this unreasonable?

A name for 4X4 flood tourists?

If we ever get the moss out the grass, the sand out the bags might come in handy for the re-seeding.

At the the risk of re-animating you-know-who, I have to say that until the road was officially closed, the worst offenders at deliberate wave/wash creation were daft 4X4 drivers - "Look! I've go a big ***** and can drive through this and make a big wave!"

Is there a name for them?

Must say though, listening to the wireless, we're relatively unscathed (so far) compared to a lot of other people who will have suffered substantial damage.

Re: A name for 4X4 flood tourists?

Want me to post some photos of what the roads like here can look like when it rains hard. I live in Berks.

I need a 4x4 to get out of my house some mornings - when the to$$ers who don't drive 4x4's haven't abandonded their cars in the flooded lane and blocked it for everyone else that is.

Don't feel defensive. I have nothing against 4X4s, or against the people who drive them.

The issue is simply one of the yahoo henries/henriettas and their baseball cap equivalents who deliberately go out of their way to make prats of themselves. Bit like some jetskithingies who behave like prats.

Standards, dear boy. Standards!

Harrumph!
