Hi all, Im refitting my wooden cleats and have built up new timbers between the outer hull topsides and the inner woodwork...Im considering using a brace to drill holes all the way through everything and the minimum distance is about 260mm but slightly longer give a wee bit wriggle room BUT the sticky question is how to leave decent smooth ends?
I can clearly used the domed end on the outside hull but sooner or later the nut and coach bolt end will be there sticking out at calve height and it would mke a terrible mess of someones legs....
any suggestings as to a way round this....perhaps a fullel shaped collar that will take the pinch force of the nut and spread the load but will recess into the cleet itself leaving a flush smooth surface for bare legs to brush up against without fear of getting cut.

Regards Alan
