I am replacing the cockpit drain fittings and hose on my Westerley. The "hose tails" available in approximately the right size are 1" BSP to 25mm hose and 1" BSP to 30mm hose. Ideally I would use the 30mm as it is bigger.
When I look on the various websites (e.g, ASAP) the available hoses are 25mm , 32mm and 38mm i.d . This means there would be a 2mm clearance between the hose tail and 32mm hose and the hose i.e. too slack. Has anyone else faced this dilema? Is the 32mm hse OK? Your experiences would be appreciated. many thanks Martin

Yep had same problem in my cockpit drains.
I made up the 2mm differance in thread with lots of ptf tape and added a bit of Silicon sealer.
Worked ok!

Are you sure there's much benefit from using larger diameter hose? If the skin fitting has a 1"BSP thread that will make the smallest bore about 27mm, so a 32mm hose will be being restricted at that point anyway?
