3 bad things about a day on the boat

We have had a couple of nights in port hamble. Some friends came with us yesterday for a spin.

Trinity was full so we asked cowes yacht haven for a short stay. Yes no problem but you'll have to raft. No problem said I. Are you power or sail. On learning we were a powerboat he refused entry. Why, i asked. You cant raft next to a yacht, he said. I said i can see why you would prefer to raft power together but not prohibit the practice of mooring next to a yacht. But no, he wasn't having it. So we headed upriver.

Lunch at the folly, sat outside. It was plagued by wasps. The owner was going round with one of these tennis racket zapper things but he was losing the battle. There must be a nest near, Mrs E was stung twice during our meal. If you want to sit outside, avoid until its sorted. It wasn't just 1 or 2,
There were 10's of the things persistently buzzing around our table. Ruined our meal.

So we sat at anchor for a while, the sun came out for long enough to persuade us to take a dip. Plodded back to the hamble, but my ex boater pal was not ready to get off, so we took a trip up to bursledon. He had a single engine sterndrive boat and wasn't practised in shafts, and turning in the strong tide plus a kamikaze canoeist didn't make for the most elegant of turns, but i was there to keep an eye. A WAFI on the trots screamed that we shouldn't be on the river if we didn't know what we were doing! I took the helm, spun round and held station in the tide about 4 feet from his boat. I asked him to repeat what he said which he hilariously tried to justify. I pointed out that it wasn't his river and that anyway i could handle by boat thank you very much. I made sure my bathing platform stayed a nice, steady 3 feet from his boat as I slowly turned despite the tide, held steady so I could just make the point from the other side of my boat then left him to it. Lets see you do that with your boat then Mr WAFI with emphasis on the FI. Childish, yes I know, I couldn't help it.

We had a nice day anyway, and the sun is out now, have another set of pals due to arrive. You may see us at anchor somewhere later, you're welcome to say hello but we may be best avoided!

Excuse my ignorance but you tell me what a WAFI is/stands for and do they only exist on the Hamble.
