2nd World War Archaeology of Suffolk

Thanks. I had found some of these remains, but reading a proper historical account places everything in context.

The best maintained bit must surely be the bit that we all know - the Gunshed at Levington, home to EYE Ltd. But I had not appreciated that the shed was on rails whilst the 12” naval gun that it protected was firmly bolted into place. It makes more sense now!

I found that quite bizarre..... I thought the gun travelled on a circular section of track, thus allowing a 360 degree arc of fire, we learn something new every day !
