due to time constraints i services my outboard last year (v lightly used prob max 6hrs use) but it still did not start as easily as it did when new.

Apart from oil change, new spark plug and carb clean is there anything else I should do /look at before summer sailing holiday.

I have one of these.
The jets in the carb are tiny and can block up under some circumstances.
I always turn the fuel off and run the carb dry before a period of no use to prevent this.

When wanting to start it after this process , turn on the fuel and leave it 30secs for the fuel to refil the carb and float chamber etc.

It should then start easily.

Before i did this i always had a problem starting mine.

Also don't run it on last years petrol , some of it's volatile elements will have been lost over time.
Again this was a lesson for me when i could not start mine.
