2GM20 wiring harness. would like to replace mine as messy + a broken wire. But ££££££

I noticed a black wire was broken on the wiring harness, may have happened when we changed the engine mounts and it got knocked about. the harness is pretty grubby though and it would be nice to have a new one. I had a quote for a replacement off bottomlinemarine but they are £400:disgust:

You could always reconnect the black wire and clean it?

i had a look last night after work. i automatically think anything boat engine is daunting. i traced the wire as being a ground for the control panel. i reconnected it and cleaned the wires and re-taped them. £400 for new wiring is robbery. There should be an ombudsman for this sort of thing

Not sure which bit of the harness you need but I have the middle section plus what's left of the front half harness ( connectors may be of some use if nothing else) which I replaced after rewiring my 2GM20. I only used the front half.

I managed to get front and middle sections second hand at the time, but only used the front.

The middle section is the part which has two connectors each end of the loom.
