I am in the process of rebuilding my Japanese 2gm20 seawater cooled waterpump. I have all the necessary parts now, but have a query regarding the rubber flinger washer? Item number 9 on schematic.
I do have a schematic picture showing the Japanese version of the 2gm20 pump, but don't seem to be able to load the image to this message?
The Yanmar ring flinger is
Part number: 104211-42110 and is item No 9. On the yanmar schematic.
The schematic shows the order of fitting the part on the impeller side of the shaft flange, and I know it goes on the shaft before the lip seal.
Looking at the shaft, I see there is a reduced diameter next to the flange, the opposite side to where the bearings fit and wondered if this flinger washer should fit there as it is a tight fit on the other end of the shaft?
My question is, does this rubber flinger washer fit up against the flange, opposite side of the bearings, or does it just butt up to the back of the lip seal behind the impeller?
Would anybody have a sectional drawing through the appropriate waterpump, or a link to one, so I could see it's correct position on the shaft please before fitting?
If so I would be most grateful.
I have watched several videos online but they seem to be different pumps, EU engines with a different pump - Johnson, or 1Gm or completely different engines altogether.
The Johnson pump parts are fitted from same end, but with different part's, and the lip seal is fitted from the impeller side.
Sorry for such a long post, but just trying to get it right now I have the parts after waiting so long for them.
