290 Duo Props

Hi all
Could some kind bod please tell me what oil I should put in my Volvo 290 Duo prop legs?

Hi Syd, ther seems to be some confusion over this, I know I work for Volvo Penta and this has to be the No 1 question I get asked, assuming you have 6 cyl diesels i.e. 40,41, or Kads, the curent reccomendation is mineral gearoil, if in doubt as to the correct spec buy it from your local dealer its not that expensive and you know its the right stuff, I always tell customers its cheap insurance to pay a little more for a known make than to buy some unknown mickey mouse brand oil. You will need 2,7 litres per leg and remember to fill from the bottom, hope this is of help. Steve.
