290 DP drive stuck at trim level 5

The boat has stayed at the mooring since the pandemic. Checking everything I discovered the drive leg wouldn't move off level 5. The elecrtics seem fine, the relays are clicking but nothing is moving. Unfortunately the leg is hidden from view under a rear platform so I can't just stand on it to give it some encouragement. Are there any quick tricks that would release it or am I due to spend another small fortune on a lift-out adn service?

If relays are clicking but pump not running I suspect the problem can be solved inside the boat without the need for a lift. Either the relays are not passing current to the pump (they can click and still not pass current) or they are passing current and the pump motor is seized/dead. Quite simple to test which one it is with a multimeter.

I had a very similar problem on my 290dp it turned out to be a relay and the 50amp fuse
Fuse 55 amp for Volvo Penta, marineparts.eu

changed both and all ok

If it goes up ok…swap over the relays and see if it goes down but not up.
