Well, did the handover and test run on the boat today. Told by the engineer to impress on the client not to exceed 3,500 RPM - but still that gave a very comfortable cruising speed of 32 knots.

Sea state up Southampton Water was slight so not really very testing - until that is the owner mistimed the Red Jet wash. But anyway after I shut the bow rider door which opend by itself off we went again. The rain put a bit of a dampener on the day and after lift out, the boat was put on its trailer and off the new owners headed for a week in the West Country.

Once run in, this boat will fly!

Same engine we just sent off in new boat. Purrs absolutley lovely.

Really responsive. No catalytic convertors on this one either.

GM block the rest all built by Mercruiser so not a GM crate engine. Edelbrock aluminium heads oh im in Heaven. Just wondering if I could grease one of these babies up and fit in my Falcon 23!!!!!

Just a quick note of concern Dave there is a drain pipe central on the engine hatch that appears to hang over the rear of the engine.

Advise the owner to check and get it moved or extended into the bilge.

On these 8.2`s all the electrics and HT coil packs are at the rear right where that pipe is!!!!

Very Very responsive! Very light on the throttle and spend more time out of gear than in it when slow speed. Click in, click out!

Mmmm.... I'm afraid she won't.
I hope you won't take my comment as meant to rain on your parade, that's not my intention by all means.
But there are a couple of things I can't help noticing:

1. 32kts at 3500 rpm on a 25' with such engine isn't such a great performance. Assuming that the boat will reach the max rated engine RPM of 5000, she will see the high 40s, if that. I'm not saying it's a shabby speed, but the boats which fly are indeed VERY different: there are 25' boats capable of 60+ with the same power...!

2. the outdrive doesn't seem a Bravo III X, judging by the pics. If it's a standard Bravo III, I wouldn't want to be in the owner's boots, because it's only rated for 400hp. The 8.2 HO requires the X version of Bravo III. In fact, it would be surprising that a builder doesn't take that into account, also for warranty reasons. But maybe it's just the label which is missing for some reason?

Other than that, she looks lovely, and the room allowed by the bow rider arrangement must be fantastic for day trips!

it's a bit difficult to see, but was the trailer picture taken before the rest of the tie-down straps were made fast ? It almost looks as if the boat is just sitting on the trailer.

It is as delivered from the US. The boat was not pushed at all on the day and was bought up to only 3,200. As I said I was only doing the handover and took new owners out, so not raining on my parade at all. I also know boats of same size that are capable of much more as well.

There are 2 tie down straps. One on the stern and one at the bow. That is all that is required.
 
The 250 slx's are usually good for about 53 mph with the 375 hp, i would think she'll hit happily do 56 with the 430 in.

pretty good going as they are a heavy boat.

loving the new interior colour and finish.

Hang on a minute, we were talking of knots, not mph. Otherwise, I would have said that there are 25 footers with the same power which are good for 70, rather than 60 (kts/mph respectively).
Besides, the first post made me assume that the boat was making 32kts at 3500rpm, whilst afterwards Solitaire mentioned 3200rpm.
If she makes 32kts at 3200rpm, I agree that the boat should be good for 56mph at WOT, maybe even 58 - hence hitting the 50kts mark.
Again, not shabby at all, but still far from real flying boats... ;)
