Looking for recommendations/experience for replacing 20w & 10w g4 bulbs with warm white leds, lots out there.
One from batsystem does the job, right colour, good brightness, but expensive.

Anyone any ideas?

Quality led lights will cost, cheap ones give poor quality light and can be a fire risk.

PeteM of this parish is working on a supply for some high quality G4 replacements.

Available with a cri of >80 (equivemeht to cabtalupi fittings) or even higher at >90.
Cost is about £11.50 for the 80cri, £15 for the 90cri. 20w halogen equivalent. There will also be 10w and 15w but I don't have pricing on those.

I'm about to replace the G4s in Seralia with a mix as a rest bed and report back to pete

Have you looked at bedazzled ?
http://www.bedazzled.uk.com/12v_LED_Bulb_Replacement.htm
I replaced halogen with type G4V-12LA warm white, which are 20W equivalent. Certainly brighter than the 10W halogens they replaced but also nice warm light.
They are not cheap but seem well made. Make a huge reduction to the current used .

I used Bedazzled also, quick delivery and their product info stresses their safety and quality, the 10w equivs give a decent amount of light, the 20w ones are almost too bright, bought both in the warm white versions. Will certainly use these people again.

I bought some about 4 years ago.
Ended up buying for Bedazzled
However, IMO, LEDs are never as warm as Halogen so we have a mixture.
The lights that we use on anchor (galley, stand lamps in the saloon, bedside lights and all the bathrooms) are LED
The rest are halogen that we use in port.
I was only buying LEDs to reduce power at anchor.
Oh yes - the anchor light itself - this one (I think is the one we use) http://www.searolf.com/store/p75/ANCHOR_/_MASTHEAD_LIGHT_.html

Indeed. Worth reading this thread http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?439935-DECENT-replacement-G4-LED-s-(maybe-one-for-JFM-) for some hints and tips. Note that the NauticLED G4's now come with a higher CRI. On paper, they are superior to the Bedazzled ones but are a bit dearer.

Starfile, please email me if you want a brochure and I can order you some when I order Jez's if you like. Perhaps you can compare them to the Bedazzled ones? Happy to do it at trade price in the spirit of market research.
