Hi, Can anyone help with the following?
I have been given a 3kW, 24 volt dc generator, powered by a single cylinder Farymann diesel engine model A30, both in very good condition. I would like to use this unit as an auxilliary lightin / power supply. The unit is manufactured by G M Powerplant, Ipswitch. UK. The name plate reads :- Marine Dieselite, Model- 3MDF- 224S-M92A. This unit appears to be arranged to start the engine using the generator when connected to a 24 volt battery bank and the start button on the control panel is pressed. The generator has a separate shunt field with a 50 ohm variable rheostat, and a series field, presumably the series field is part of the engine start circuit. When I received the genset, the terminal box and control panel had been disconnected and partially dismantled. Does anyone have a connection diagram for the generator and control panel, or any information on this unit. I have contacted the manufacturer, G M powerplant at Ipswitch and they are unable to help. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
