Atlantic Crossing Blog

I've been following these guys across the Atlantic and a cracking read it is to.
Not sure if their nav system is on the blink - seems very quick for a 'cruising' cat. I'm a mono guy myself - so I would know about these things /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi

Glad you are enjoying the blog.

There is actually laptop gps track data (which is used to produce the route maps) that confirms this. Since the gps track data is taken every 5 and 15 mins - it has never actually recorded this speed - but it certainly confirms the trend (in the very late teens). The boats nav instruments have recorded this 'maximum' speed. But as is not surprising (there is more important things to worry about I guess) - this is not noticed until later in the day.

Cheers
