ive just purchased a 2002 jeanneau leader 805 but im having difficulty with the 230v shore power hook up. Both the immerison and battery charger switchs on the main box work fine but the 230v switch will not power on. There is very little in the instruction manual about it. Is ther a fuse somewhere maybe?
any advice would be much appreciated

Do you mean the main RCD switch keeps tripping when turned on, if so it means there is a possible fault on the mains circuits.
Turn off ALL final mains switches, then turn on the RCD, if it holds in switch on the sockets then the immerion heater best guess is the immersion element has gone causing an inbalance in the RCD.

Re: 230v shore power advice on jeanneau leader

the main rcd switch is ok with all 3 final mains switchs in the on position but no power is coming through to the cabin

The switch is actually a fuse as well, as all three are, if the other two are working and the rcd isn't tripping it could well be a faulty switch. There are no other 240v fuses.

it must be the switch then. is this a marine grade part or the same as what is used for domestic purposes?

My boat did this earlier this year and it was a faulty battery charger. I turned everything off on the control panel and then switched them on until it tripped the shore power switch, isolating the problem.

i had the shore power hooked up to a 1000w honda genny the the immersion and battery charger would but it under load but when i would flick the 230v switch nothing happened

Re: 230v shore power advice on jeanneau leader

Are you sure the point of connection on the pontoon is Live.
if so test at the end that connects to the boat for 230V AC, but make sure you are inside the boat just encase you drop the Live end, everthing I drop ends up in the water.
If Live at piller but not a cable end unplug from piller and carryout continuity check on the lead, possible cable has pulled out of the connection of the male or femal ends

Hi, are you aware that there is a mains switch with an RCD on the other side of the engine bay above the battery boxes. It isn't obvious to see you have to kneel on the wooden platform facing away from the three switch panel and you will see the mains switch on the right hand of the bulk head just before the battery charger. It is a small grey box with a perspex cover with an RCD swtich under neath. Have you checked this hasn't tripped or been over ridden?

By the way I have a Lead 805 yr 2006 which I have now extensively crawled over so feel free to direct some questions my way or PM me.

the trip switch seems to work fine. it must be the actual 230v switch as mentioned above. i'll change it and see what happens

If you've got power to the immersion and charger then that switch box is live and therefore the main RCD switch is fine. How do you know that the mains isn't live, I pressume you mean that the socket in the galley isn't live as that is the only mains output on the leader?

theres the socket and the microwave neither of which are getting power. the 3 sockets seem to have the same rating so i'll try switching them and see how i get on
