Just opened my 2010 Almanac and realize that they have removed the tide tables for Burnham on Crouch. I klnow it is a secondary port to W-O-N but they have included them every other year that I have been buying it.

I am really mad as it now means I am going to have to remember how to do secondary port calcs instead of just looking it up.

I also notoced that B-O-C is completly missing from the index!

Oh dear, poor bairn.

Thank you for your sympathy. Would you feel the same if the tables you used every weekend were left out?

It's not the end of the world, I can do secondary calcs. I am annoyed that I have spent £35 when I would not have done if I had known.

In the long run it is their loss and my gain. No more regular £35 payments as I shall use either the free Wiley Almanac or use 2010's Reeds for the next few years with a locally produced tide table.

I can recommend the Belfield Tide plotter software.
Never do a secondary calc again.
This will give you most secondary ports and tide curves for them.
The software can be installed in your PC and on a windows mobile phone.
£11.00 for 1 year or £22.00 for 3 years.
See http://www.tideplot.force9.co.uk/pricing.htm

No connection apart from being a long time user.

To be honest, I use the free printed ones available from all the boat yards, as they are easier to refer to in the chart table.
At home, I use EasyTide or WX32.
New chartplotting on laptop gives the spot tides as well as the harmonics....
I only buy Reeds every 2-3 years anyway.

You should get the Burnham tide tables with your Crouch harbour permit - some time soon. But i agree, it is irritating that Reeds have left us out.

Yes, I agree. I get a free set every year when I pay my harbour dues. I do do it through my club, the RSA, and I don't know what happens if you pay the CHA direct.

Our boatyard at Rochford also supplies a free tide table but only for high water at Rochford as they don't believe low water counts there. The high water difference to Burnham is negligible, of the top of my head.

I think its easy at Rochford. No Water Springs is about HWS+/-1 :D

No Water Neaps is very similar to High Water Neaps. i.e. None.

The reason

Per Reeds Feb 2010 update:

Ed Note(2): Some readers have commented on the omission of tide
tables for Burnham-on-Crouch in the 2010 edition of Reeds. This
is because Burnham is no longer a Standard Port in the Admiralty
Tide Tables (ATT). In the interests of accuracy, therefore, we have
now included Burnham as a Secondary Port to Walton-on-the-
Naze, as shown in ATT.
