Well I remember last year someone started a thread so I happily joined in with my intentions for the year. Little did I know that after just 4 days on the boat in April she would have to be lifted out due to a 'significant' problem! I am in contact with Flipper's new owner and he has strengthened her and she is back in the water somewhere in the midlands at the moment.

As for my plans for this year, I hope I am not tempting fate but the will be the usual weekends (and the Pirate weekend date is in the diary) but fingers crossed if all goes well Karouise & I will be away sailing from late May until the end of June off exploring the Channel coasts. Not too much time in the Solent though!

My plans involve:-
Launch before Easter.
A weekend sailing with my eldest Daughter and My Grand daughter. (her firstnight afloat)
Oostend followed by London at the end of May
A couple of weeks along the french coast.
As many weekends sailing as I can get away with.

I hope to keep Sirenia on the water next winter and will be looking for an inexpencive berth for 2 or 3 months.

2010 Plans

1. Return from foreign climes in one piece - Inch Allah
2. Launch Guapa NLT May 1st
3. Find berth for Guapa. Other half adamant -> pontoon berth
4. Ostend @ anchor, then onwards to Norway. Stavanger, then Lerwick and back.
5. August: 2 week trip to Normandy
6. Mid Sep - mid Dec -> Djibouti

Big plan for 2011 -> February - retire :cool::D

Is there a date for the Pirate weekend?

2010 plans.... to manage 1,500nm min in the season... hoping to reach Brest or thereabouts.... plus Oostende trip, a London sojourn, Pirates 2010 and usual forum seasonal highlights!

Expect to manage a good half dozen or so weekends in the Backwaters along the way!

To sail less than 2500 miles, but more than this year on my own boat..

Back to West Coast of Scotland at least once.
Bring Scotland to the East Coast for a trip.
Grimsby and Boston.
Ostend/Limehouse/Opera.
Row for a Reason,finally.
Chelmer Canal in either a kayak or the GRP tender.

Get the jobs list under 60 items for the 1st time ever. Hahahahahaha

2010 plans: To be in the water by 1st May. To get at least three weekends and a weeks cruise in before July. Pirate weekend then 6 weeks on board cruising Belgium/Holland.

BTW, a 4am HW is a real pain for the pirate weekend.

Hmm...

Start sailing as soon as I can leave the boat without aunty freeze in the raw water side of the cooling system.
First north sea crossing for the fitted up supper
Oostend.
Pirate week-end. Can I be a pain and ask if it could be moved into the holidays? - I would need to take the Lad out of school to sail across and that is problematic.
Get SWIMBO to spend a night on board.

Oostende voor Anker then to Holland until mid July (so will miss Pirate weekend). Brother and wife coming from Canada to join us in Holland for a couple of weeks.

Southwold again would be nice.

Generally as much as possible :)

Well, THE calender says, Thursday, 15th April says 'Boat onto beach' and 30th April says 'Boat off beach'. for the annual neaping and painting. Major concern at the moment is the extent of mud on the beach! If the weather is c**p for that, I shall be man with paint brush looking for an opportunity..... The joy of wooden boats. Oh and the last visit four days ago shows that I need to firm up some caulking around the stern where we shook her last year checking the deadwood bolts (which didn't need checking even about 44 years!). Sailing? Blimey that's a long way off. SWRRMBO wants to know if we can bring the cat this year?

2010 plans

March/April, Leave Messolongi, Greece

Cross from Corfu or possibly Sarande (Albania) to southern italy

Early June, arrive Bouches du Rhone, via the Messina straits, Ischia, Isola Pontine, Elba and Corsica.

July/August Transit the French canals

Row for a reason weekend: Arrive Heybridge basin, where you can get a decent pint of Guinness. Take part in Row for a Reason. Perform remarkably well considering. Start looking for a job.

Hope to tag along with the RNSA 75th Birthday Party Cruise as far as Pompey, and hopefully Portland if time allows.. ..

Just enjoy our new boat, at last we have one that actually works every time we go out on her. No more coming home with the hump every time we got out cos something else on a brand new boat needs fixing, which very nearly had me give up last year !
