hey all,

I just tried to fire up my williams 325 jet rib and alas no engine start.

saying that it hasnt been started for 8 months or so...

Its been sat on the back of my boat and kept dry.

Most likely thing is battery which we are testing soon.

Also any advice on specific servicing? it has around 110 hrs on it. My spine is still in place just about :)

Thanks in advance,

I serviced one last year, the one with the turbo engine, really awkward to work on in the water, the service was simple, plugs, oil filter, fuel filter and costly mobil 1 fully synthetic oil.

If its been on the back of your boat presuming uk all winter did you have the engine winterised as its been freezing, hope theres no frost damage.

There are many electrical parts, ignition coils, ecu etc to get corroded, so id make sure you have a fully charged battery, new fuel as petrol goes off after a while, new plugs, crank it over with the plugs out and check or a spark, if no spark then id be looking at wiring, ht leads coils, and of course the safety start kill system.

assume the lanyards connected.fresh fuel might not go amiss.if still no go you'll have to let us know if you have spark first,so some crawling on your hands and knees is order of the day.

Had the same problem on a Jetrib last year, take the plugs out and connect them to the leads and crank to see if you have a spark. Mine had a faulty cam angle sensor so only fired on one cylinder.
If you need help Paul at the factory is very knowledgeable (07854720377)

Hi, I think your problem could be the Kill Cord switch.

I had to replace two of them.

What happens is that with the kill cord connected they fail to make a circuit.
What you could try is on the underside of the Kill Switch is 2 wires. remove the 2 wires and fit in a blade fuse.
This will make a circuit and if you are lucky the engine will fire up.
I had to do that a few times in an emergency to get back to camp.
