I am new to boating and considering the purchase of a Sea Ray 260 Sundancer with the 5.7 Merc Bravo III and only 300hrs.

Looking for comments on the quality of the boat, things I should look for when I go look at it before buying, known issues with these models and are they known to be reliable or require heavy maintenance.

Thank you

I used to have a 260 Sundancer, a 2001 model. Quite good build quality and a lot of fun.
Make sure it's not a dodgy import so look for VAT paperwork and CE mark.
The Bravo3 has a reputation for eating anodes and then itself so check for corrosion and service history.
On mine there were a few things that were extras that I found really useful. Things like anchor windlass, camper canvas and the vucuflsh toilet with holding tank.
If it's on a trailer maker sure it's a UK spec one.

Edit.
Also, get it surveyed before you buy it..

My mate had a US inport 2007 260 sundancer, on the back of a trip out on it i bought my old 280 sundancer (which was a lot more boat in comparison).
i remember it being very unstable, you had to keep one hand on the trim tab buttons as it needed constant adjustment to keep it level. i was told the earlier ones were fine, but sea ray changed the hull design in the mid 2000's and later single engine models all sufered to such a degree that sea ray discontinued it.
