2001 Avon Jetrib 320 (handlebar style)

Hi Roy

Afraid I cannot answer your question but I too am looking at getting a small jetboat like the Avon (pref a 285) jetboat to replace our Honwave with Honda o/b. Any ideas of the best place to look for one?

Thanks.

Can someone help me please?

I have just got myself a jetboat as above, I need to get a new impellor housing and exhaust cover along with many other smaller parts and finding it difficult to find within google and eBay, can someone suggest the best place to ask please?

Regards Roy

Its the 83hp yam 2stroke that is in millions of jetskis so better to google that than avon. Simple unit thought, for example if impeller stuck in housing that's a common corrosion fault. Best cure by strip down and a file
You must grease the bearing too
If you want an official dealer to supply parts then ron hale in portsmouth is excellent imho
But remember there was never a big parts trade for these. No service parts were ever needed. No water pump, no oil, no filters, no freahwater circuit at all, and so on

Happy to be corrected but I don't think avon ever did 2.85jet. Williams do but it is the new weber 4stroke engine so expensive

Beware buying an old 2stroke jet. If you're good at fixing stuff they're fine but iIf not you can have much hassle paying for fixes. And getting it to dealer for repair is hassle unless you have trailer

Certainly you need to keep them corrosion free else things seize
Good luck

try bhg marine

I just sold my 400dl jet for a 180 sei ( larson ) and i'm glad to se it go. they look good but in reality handle like a dog at low speed and are prone to clogging and impeller damage. also very noisey.

try bhg marine in lymington as the have good deals on the 4 strokes.
