G,day Dylan , many thanks for that clip , i to am wondering about the pushing power of these advertised high thrust motors , do you know of any comparison test that has been done with , say, 9.9 four strokes . I have had experience with Yamaha,s 9.9 on a Seawind 1000 cat , they weigh 5 ton and run two 9.9 Yamaha,s , our survey was 32+2 so when i had a full compliment on board we weighed about 7 tons , they never fell short in the whole season i ran that boat .I am now contemplating putting an outboard on the back of my 28 ft 3.5 ton yacht , but which one , Yamaha change,s the gearbox so as to run a larger prop, all the others say they are high thrust but only change the propeller ,is this all that is needed to make a high thrust motor. I would like to know torque figure,s on these motors but they just don,t seem to be available, are all high thrust motors equal , have you any thoughts on the subject. I have had a 26ft 2.5 ton yacht that had a hole in the cockpit floor and ran an out board , it was just fine ,and in all the time i owned it i never had to dive on it once to clean the prop .
