2-stroke mixture

Hi all
Anyone happen to know the correct fuel/oil mixture ratio for an aged Yamaha Malta 3.5hp outboard?

Thanks. Engine hasn't been used for some time - now I need to refill the tank and I've temporarily mislaid the manual for this engine.

it could be 100>1 but 50>1 is quite ok even better as more oil less wear

Depends on the age but you may be able to find an owners manual at http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard/service/viewmanuals/outboard_manuals.aspx

Yamaha were one of the first IIRc to go over to 100:1 fuel mixes but 50:1 is always the safe option for anything since the mid 1960s. Even Yamaha recommend 50:1 for engines used commercially.

On my Yam it actually says what to use (100:1) on the little control panel on the front of the engine - just above the fuel switch... might be worth a look??
