2 Stroke Mix

Have managed to procure a Tohatsu 9.8 2 stroke to add some grunt to my tender!

Just checking on using the thing. Do people mix up the fuel and oil before putting into the tank or just put it straight in? I believe I’m on a 50:1 ratio.

For mine i pre mix 5 litres at a time in petrol can @ 50-1 then fill outboard tank as required . And if its not used it goes home to use in chainsaw / hedge cutter etc . 9.8 is great motor , i always run it out of fuel and fresh water flush after use and its not missed a beat in 5 years .

I put it straight in, then give the tank a good slosh around to mix it up.

Even if it says 100-1 use 50-1.

I put petrol in first then oil it then gets one slosh before I set off back to the boat at speed. The run back mixes it up thoroughly.

Mixed beforehand and also that I have the option to take it with me in tender if I need to top up.
