1) Is it possible to fit a very simple time switch so I can set when the heating comes on in the morning?

2) The ducting from the heater unit is not lagged, so the engine room is heated most effectively. Is there any reason why I shouldn't fit some some lagging so more of the heat gets to the cabins?

Many thanks for any thoughts.

Hi
Quick reply -
1. You can buy a timer that works with some Webasto and Eberspacher systems. I have no idea how good they are or which ones they work with. You could try here as a starting point.
2. You can buy original spec stuff from:

I've seen many previous posts on here advising of the various types of products you can and can't use depending upon the route of your ducting. Worth a search back.

Fo lagging the duct - cheapskate method is to lay rockwool over the ducting and hold it in place with cheap B&Q ali ducting cut down its length.
It does make a difference... and a lot cheaper than the "right" stuff which is thinsulate.

I bought one of THESE and it works well. You can set it to come on 3 times a day for up to 2 hours 7 days a week or on constant. You'll also need a mounting kit (part number 25 1482 70 01 00 ) if you want to flush mount it. The wireing is a bit fidly in that you have to solder the connectors but easily do-able.
