I was delighted to meet Jack and Donnacha in the middle of the the Shannon Estuary on Tuesday afternoon while they were at anchor waiting for the tide to turn near Shannon Airport. I was on my way back up from Kilrush to Killaloe. We stopped for a chat. These two amazing men have just rowed their little boat from Lough Allen the full length of the Shannon down to Tarbert in the estuary in aid of the Children's charity "ShantiStreetKids.org". Donnacha is 71 and his 1st mate Jack has Multiple Sclerosis, yet they managed this amazing feat to help others. Well done. I am happy to report that they safely completed they voyage yesterday.

Well done to the two lads, and well done Froggie for publicising their amazing journey.
I spotted the two lads around Banagher a couple of weeks ago and thought "what a strange craft", well now I know.

Yes they've receive great support and a warm welcome form many crews along the full length of the Shannon, through the vast Loughs Ree and Lough Derg. Many boats have met them at various points along their expedition in aid of such a worthy cause. They actually rowed the boat facing forwards.
