The engine anode is not even mentioned in the manual. I haven't yet found any help on 'tinternet (please prove me wrong) but it comes along with a gasket & seal in the full service kit.

I removed the only cover I could find that was the same shape as the gasket only to find something which I'm pretty sure is a thermostat (and I haven't got a new gasket for that).

I know there's lots of 1GM10s out there so, can anyone tell me where I stick it? :)

under the alternator
its quicker if you remove/ un bolt the alternator

Sailorman, you are a life saver. Well, certainly a time saver.

There's a drink in the lounge for you! A real one if we ever meet up.

Job now done! Thanks again

Yes, it is cunningly hidden. Make sure you change the washer and gasket as well.

Recommend buying the official Yanmar service manual if you intend doing any serious work. That does tell you where the anode is.
