I need to helicoil the primary fuel filter housing which has stripped out. Can anyone confirm the diameter of the bleed screw? I think it may be 5mm but would welcome confirmation before I buy the helicoil set.

TIA

IIRC-and I'm not sure that I do-its M6. I think the last two I bled had a 10mm hex with a phillips screwdriver slot in the top and a sealing washer.

Hope I'm right-and that it helps you.

Good Luck.

I am fairly sure it's M6 I had to use a bolt once in extremis having dropped the bleedscrew in the bilge in the middle of Biscay.

KISS - I Had a similar problem on my Contessa26 1GM after the bleed screw was stripped - I epoxied the bleed screw in with metal glue and just bleed from the fuel pipe which exits on top of the fuel filter. Worked fine after every filter change.

I fitted a priming bulb between tank and primary CAV filter and sealed the CAV and secondary filter bleed screws. I can easily, and quickly, bleed the entire system through by cracking just the hp pump bleed screw.
